What is his (Weyant's) record and who has he beat that has not been from Vermont or small NH/NY programs?  Has he defeated any other ranked kids within their state?  Who were his losses to (if any others) besides Stratton?

If he and Stratton split on the season couldn't the argument be made that Stratton should be there as well?  Aren't they supposed to be very even?

Looking for any other results or feedback regarding the rankings before they get updated.  I know that Stratton beat Weyant.  Any other top 5 wrestlers get beat by lower ranked or unranked kids?

Any idea what weight Lash is going @ states?  Heard he was back, but was heavy and not likely to make 125.  He has already missed weigh @ 125 X2 this season.  Any idea what he is doing?

First of all its great to have a place to post our thoughts and get into the season so I don't want this to come across disrespectful but this pound for pound list is a way out of whack!

Observation 1:
There are kids ranked in New England that don't make the list and others that are not ranked in NE that do????
Schram (MAU 103)
Eddy (Colchester 103)
Stratton (MAU 112)
Weinfurt  (MAU 145)
All Ranked in NE

Observations 2:
Lash is very good but what qualifies him for the best pound for pound??  He wrestled 112 last year and is jumping over a weight class (possibly two) this year at states.  Has he been tested at 125 or 130?? This is not a rhetorical question.  I would genuinely like to know.

Observation 3:
Hale is the highest ranked Vermonter in New England rankings at one of the more competitive weights (125) and yet he is ranked 7th????

Obervation 4:
There are two kids ranked top 10 pound for pound in the 135 pound weight class.  While both are very talented neither are ranked in NE.  135 is a very weak weight class this year in VT.

Observation 5:
Junior class ~
1,2,3)  Very tuff call between Mitchell, Stratton, or Weyant
4,5.)  Price/Zupko

I don't know if pound for pound can translate to the kids most likely to make noise at New Englands but IN MY OPINION the kids with the most legitimate chance this year to make noise at NE are (possible finalists):
Bradley
Rich
Webster

After this from VT:
Hale
Lash (if he goes 125 not if he goes up to 130)
Weyant
Statton
Michell (should place but not better than 5th)

VT fan i respect what you say but do not complety agree.

On observation 1. the new England pre rankings don't really matter, if i remember correctly Travis garret was ranked 1 or 2 and did not place. and Kyle edmunds was not ranked and got 4th or some thing like that. so the pre new england rankings are not real accurate.
now on

observation 2. the reason i believe lash is number one or close to it.  was the way he dominated mike Bradley at states last year . a kid (bradley) who got 4th at new englands, . I have not seen lash this year, but i am sure he will be ready to wrestle come states.

now on observation3. i agree with you,  i was just going of warp rankings.

observation4. the only reason i ranked smith in the top 10 is that he beat michell.

observation 5. price is the best pound for pound in that  class.  out of all those kid he is the only one not to loose a instate match this  year. weyant smith and michell have all lost in state. zuppko is also tough but my personal belief is price is better.
kids who i believe could place :
Cyle Weyant
Mike Bradley
Chris Lash
Mitchell
Price
rich
Webster.

Good stuff but how can you have Weyant at the top of your NE place list and not the kid that beat him 2 out of 3 times (Statton)??  We'll agree to disagree about the 135 pound weight class.  Price is very good (the best in VT) but New England place finisher at 135???? Wow thats a pretty bold statement.  Maybe next year.  I hope I'm wrong as I wish the best for all VT kids.  Zuppko is peaking right now and is argueably wrestling better than anyone on the MAU team.

vtfan8, Did Smith Stratton not lose to seth Harrington? i think they only have wrestled 1 Weyant has beat Harrington  i think 3 time's though the Harrington kid keeps getting better, the match between Wayant and Stratton was a tuff one won't take anything away from Stratton right now he is the # 1 guy at 112 but if you didn't see the match then i will say that Weyant in the 2nd period  took a shot to the eye it was cut very badly it swelled up shut very tuff to finish the match with an eye that bad but he did as of Monday the eye was vey bad still but he will be very motivated at STATES it will be fun to watch

Startton did loose to Harrington by pinning himself.  Yes, Statton defensively pinned himself after being in complete control.  The Harrington kid is good but not in the same league as Smith and Weyant quite yet.  If I came across against Weyant in any way I didn't mean to.  In fact, my whole motivation in jumping into this was that Startton and Weyant were not getting the dues they deserve.

VTfan8 no you didn't maybe it's just me venting on the wrong guy but you just get sick of warp57 and we all know who he is : ) sorry vtfan8 Look they both are very good and Harrington is i think right their to Three great kids but when posting it would be nice to not put kids above another because your from their school or you know them well!
