This was my first Vermont High School state wrestling tournament experience.  Matches were equally paired up, but the wrestling was and is not that impressive.  MAU has a great program, but there is no way in the world they should have scored 320pts.  That is ridiculous.  Vermont needs to step it up and take a look around, and make some changes if we want to compete with MAU let alone the rest of  New England.  Changes need to happen!!

We need the support of the schools! Wouldn't it be nice if more schools offered a program in JR HIGH that was daily after school like the other sports? I bet we would see a big improvement at the high school level if kids had the opportunity to really put in the time needed before they get to High School! We suffer from a lack of available programs in JR HIGH.

Does your area offer a youth program?  If so have your JR high kids practice with them.  I am sure there are a few 5 and 6 graders who would benefit from practicing with them.  Also, forget the grades look at their age.
